Interview #28: Cara Gubbins on how to become more intuitive and to look inward for answers instead of to external authorities
Dr. Cara Gubbins is a Spiritual Intuitive who helps people connect with themselves to lead a soul-centered life. Cara holds BA, MA and PhD degrees in Animal Behavior, Physiology, Ecology, Conservation, and Evolution. Cara and her research have been featured on CNN, the BBC, the Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Specials. Cara recently returned to graduate school and completed an MA in Spiritual Psychology with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health and Healing.
Interview #29: Sonia Story on Why Movement Matters – the importance of reflex integration and more in helping our children learn to regulate. (Note, the original interview included some slides; only the audio portion is included below.)
Sonia Story is the founder of Move Play Thrive: Brain Development through Movement and Play. She offers a variety of Neurodevelopmental Movement programs to help children with a wide range of learning and behavioral difficulties improve their focus, emotional maturity and regulation, and ability to learn. Sonia will be speaking with us today about primitive reflexes: what are they, what their purpose is, why they need to be integrated, what happens if they’re retained, and what’s involved in integrating them?
Interview #30: Helene Timpone, trauma and attachment therapist, on Why Healing Starts with Truth
Helene Timpone is an internationally recognized therapist, trainer, coach and consultant, especially noted for her work with Preteen and Teen Girls. Specializing in the areas of attachment, grief and trauma, Helene’s expertise is in empowering parents with information and techniques focused on understanding and identifying the trauma that lies beneath the child’s severe behaviors, creating long-term healing and enhancing close healthy relationships.
Interview #31: Dr. Angelika Schultz on Birth Integration Therapy – what it is and how it can release trauma stored in your child’s body
Dr. Angelika Schultz joined me for the Healing our Children 2014 World Summit to talk about the use of cranialsacral therapy to help our children release their hyperviligance and restore some space and balance to their bodies so healing can take place. We touched very briefly on something called Birth Integration Therapy and I’ve invited Dr. Angelika back to give us more information about this approach to helping children and adults make sense of and get past difficult birthing (or even prenatal) experiences. Dr. Angelika has practiced and taught craniosacral therapy for the last 13 years, since 2004 in her own private practice – first in Germany, and currently in the United States. Her focus is providing craniosacral therapy to pregnant mothers, newborns, and children. She has training as a medical doctor, licensed in Germany, with additional degrees in trauma therapy, chiropractic, and naturopathy.

A sought-after expert, advocate & speaker about healthy, gluten-free living, Jennifer has been featured on Dr. Oz, Yahoo! News, eHow, CNN, and Philadelphia Magazine and is the author behind the ground-breaking book “The Savvy Gluten-Free Shopper: How to Eat Healthy without Breaking the Bank”.
Interview #33: Kelly Dorfman on How to Become a Nutrition Detective. Why what our children eat underlies so much of what they may be struggling with.
Kelly Dorfman’s clients call her a nutrition detective because she helps them find the possible hidden links between their children’s symptoms/illnesses and their diet. She has been helping people develop nutrition strategies to address problems such as chronic ear infections, reflux, tummy aches, picky eating, poor growth, and mood and behavior problems for almost 30 years. Many of the people seeking her services are the parents of children with vexing and persistent issues that have resisted traditional medical treatment. Her book, Cure Your Child With Food, shows parents how to uncover the clues behind their children’s nutrition-based health issues and implement simple treatments—immediately. Kelly holds a master’s degree in nutrition/biology and a dietitian/nutritionist license.
Interview #34: Dr. Angelica Lemke, on How Parents and Children are Connected Energetically, and how treating both with homeopathy can shift those dynamics.
Angelika Lemke is a Naturopathic Doctor and Homeopath located in Southern California specializing in the treatment of complex chronic disease in children and adults using natural medicine. The majority of her cases are children on the spectrum, with PANS, and with other chronic and developmental diseases.
Dr. Lemke’s medical education includes 5 years of naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University. She is licensed as a primary care doctor in the state of Vermont. She has also completed 4 years of training with the New England School of Homeopathy.
Interview #35: Dr. Sheila Kilbane on The Scoop on Poop – an insightful discussion of all things “down there” and how to help your child with digestive issues.
Dr. Sheila Kilbane is an integrative pediatrician who incorporates natural & nutritional therapies into her daily pediatric medical practice, to help children with chronic issues such as colic, reflux, constipation, allergies, and more. Dr. Kilbane is going to be helping us understand what’s up down there. That means we’re going to be talking about all things poop-related, including what’s normal, what’s not, when testing is necessary, and much more.
Interview #36: Kathy Gordon on Hand-in-Hand Parenting by Connection and the different types of listening that can transform your relationship with your child.
Kathy Gordon is a certified instructor for Hand in Hand Parenting and a single adoptive mom. Kathy will be speaking with us about the importance of Parenting by Connection – what it is and what that looks like in some specific situations that many of us face on a daily basis. Kathy is particularly interested in working with foster and adoptive parents, and parents of children with any type of special need, learning or behavior challenge. She works with parents individually and does trainings for educators and professionals who work with children. Her passion is practicing and teaching conscious child-raising by connection, to foster cooperation and peace in our families and the world.
